The Life Recovery Fellowship C.I.C.
Supporting the Director of The Life Recovery Fellowship C.I.C., with the weekly administration.
The post will be for 2 hours per week on a voluntary basis to start. We work from Life Church, Burnley, on a Tuesday.
After 3 months voluntary we will look towards making this a paid role.
We can pay petrol expenses if the successful candidate drives to Life Church each Tuesday.
Life Recovery Fellowship CIC exists to help people rebuild their lives after addiction, trauma and other harmful life experiences. Whether facing dependency, relationship breakdown, family instability or emotional crisis, we offer a pathway to healing—grounded in Christian faith, practical recovery tools and the power of community.
At the heart of our approach is the Life Recovery Twelve Steps model, which blends biblical principles with proven recovery methods. Through church-based groups, activities and one-to-one support, we walk with people as they move from chaos to stability, from isolation to connection, from survival to hope.
We work collaboratively with local churches and community organisations to provide holistic, wrap-around care. Many of our group members also access support in areas such as:
Debt and financial hardship
Food insecurity
Mental health and emotional wellbeing
Healthy living and lifestyle changes
We believe in walking with the whole person—not just helping them stop using but helping them to start to live.
WHY WE’RE NEEDED
Across the UK, rising numbers of people are experiencing crisis—not just due to substance misuse, but because of issues such as trauma, poor mental health, poverty and relationship breakdown. Many have nowhere safe to turn. Others fall between the cracks of overstretched services or struggle to engage with traditional settings.
Life Recovery Fellowship offers a different kind of group recovery:
Faith-rooted but open to all backgrounds and beliefs
Peer-led, by people with lived experience of recovery
Church-connected, helping reduce stigma and rebuild trust
Structured and welcoming, using the Life Recovery Bible Study
Our groups are often the first place someone feels truly seen, accepted and supported. And from there, change becomes possible.
“I was already a Christian but couldn’t stop drinking. This group helped me do what nothing else could.”
“It was the first time I felt I could talk about the pressure I was under without fear of being judged. It wasn’t therapy—but it helped more than therapy has.”
LIVED EXPERIENCE: STORIES OF HOPE
Karen (Anonymous) Not being able to build any kind of a successful relationship and having no connection with God, she felt lost. Through Life Recovery Fellowship, she found a safe space to explore faith, rebuild self-worth and access further support. She is now over 3 years in recovery, now feels part of and now has the most important relationship in her life, with God. Karen is also helping lead a group in her area.
James (Anonymous) Came to us with long term drink and drug issues. Sleeping rough for many years and regularly begging on the street. Life Recovery gave him structure, accountability and a renewed sense of belonging. He is now clean & sober, a regular attendee at Life Church in Burnley and hosts one of the Life Recovery groups on a regular basis.
Every group we run contains stories like these—people who’ve faced adversity, found connection and begun the journey toward healing.
