Newground Together

Community gardens
Connect with others, enjoy fresh air and learn to grown flowers, herbs and vegetables even if your fingers are lacking the green touch.
Walking groups
Our friendly guided walks are held weekly across a number of local beauty spots. All fitness levels are welcome and it is a great way to get outdoors, get fit and meet new people.
Crafting
Get creative with outdoor inspired crafts and wellbeing sessions. Think seasonal decorations using materials from our community gardens. Our crafting sessions offer the opportunity to get creative and are suitable for all ages.
Cycling sessions
Gentle, led rides through safe, local routes. Our cycling session are a perfect way to build confidence and enjoy a gentle ride. We also offer cycling workshops where you can learn how to maintain your two wheels.

About Newground Together

The Great Outdoors Team at Newground Together deliver an array of different outdoor related activities to improve people’s social, physical and mental wellbeing. The Great Outdoors Team utilise the natural environment to develop people’s experiences with the great outdoors.
The Great Outdoors Team run many activities these include gardening and horticultural based sessions, guided walks, bike rides and bike maintenance sessions along with a whole host of educational/environmental sessions. These sessions are open to all ages and abilities, they are free and are at various locations across Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale.
There are many volunteering opportunities within The Great Outdoors Team for people to get involved in, theses aim to develop people’s skills, knowledge and wellbeing in outdoor based activities.
