A newly formed netball club for girls aged 7–14 years was established last year and has already made excellent progress. The club now has five qualified coaches, whose training has been funded by Rossendale Borough Council.
As we look to take the club to the next stage of its development, we are seeking three enthusiastic volunteers to form a committee that will help manage and govern the club. Key responsibilities will include establishing a bank account, developing a membership structure for players, identifying and applying for funding opportunities, and supporting the coaches in arranging fixtures and matches.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in growing and sustaining a new community netball club in Rossendale, helping to create lasting opportunities for young girls to participate in sport, develop their skills, and be part of a positive and supportive team environment. The club play at the Adrenaline centre on a Tuesday from 6-7pm. This may be required on some occasions to attend. We aim for the committee to meet four times per year but more whilst establishing and completing what is needed to be done.
Rossendale Borough Council is the local authority responsible for governing the borough of Rossendale, a local government district in Lancashire, England that includes towns such as Rawtenstall, Haslingden, Bacup and Whitworth. Beyond statutory services, the council also works on economic development, place regeneration, and broader strategic priorities like supporting local businesses, improving the environment, and enhancing community wellbeing.

We are looking for individuals with a range of skills and experience, including:
Organisation and administration skills
Basic financial management or bookkeeping experience
Fundraising and grant application experience
Good communication and people skills
Committee, governance, or leadership experience (desirable but not essential)
Social media, marketing, or community engagement skills
A passion for supporting young people and community sport
No previous experience of running a sports club is required, and support will be available. We welcome applications from anyone who is enthusiastic, reliable, and willing to contribute their time and skills to help the club grow.

We are seeking volunteers who can commit approximately 2 hours per week to support the development and management of the club. Much of the role can be carried out flexibly from home, with occasional attendance at committee meetings, club sessions, or events as required. Volunteers will be involved in helping to establish the club's governance and administration, including setting up systems and processes, supporting fundraising activities, managing memberships, and assisting with the organisation of fixtures and events. As the club develops, the level of commitment may vary slightly, but we anticipate an average commitment of around 2 hours per week. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to a growing community sports club and help create sustainable opportunities for girls aged 7–14 to participate in netball in Rossendale.
