Location: Your home (East Lancashire – Rossendale, Burnley, Pendle Hyndburn, Ribble Valley & surrounding areas)
Hours: Flexible (typically 4–14 hours of support per week)
Do you have a spare room? Could you provide a safe and supportive place for a young person housing need?
We’re looking for warm, supportive people who can offer a safe place for a young person aged 16–21 who is experiencing housing need. As a Volunteer Supported Lodgings Host, you’ll provide a welcoming home environment and gentle day to day guidance to help them develop the confidence and skills needed for independent living.
This is not an employment role — it’s a volunteering opportunity with a weekly allowance to recognise your time and household contribution.
What Hosting Involves
• Offering a safe, friendly home with access to a bedroom and shared spaces
• Providing everyday encouragement and support around routines, confidence, and wellbeing
• Helping young people build life skills, such as cooking, budgeting, and managing their own space
• Staying connected with M3 Project staff through supportive check ins and training
• Creating an inclusive, respectful environment where young people can thrive

The M3 Project is a specialist youth homelessness charity based in East Lancashire, providing advice, accommodation, and support to vulnerable young people. It focuses on helping 16–21‑year‑olds who are homeless, sofa surfing, or at risk of homelessness, M3 has two project Supported Lodgings where young people are given a bedroom in a host providers home and Teenage family Project which supports young parents and families in a fully furnished 2 bedroom house.
Who Can Volunteer?
No previous experience is needed. We provide all training.
People from all backgrounds — whether single, couples, families, working or retired — as long as you have:
• A spare room
• Patience, kindness, and good communication
• A willingness to support a young person on their journey

The M3 Project seeks volunteers in the form of Host Providers—individuals, couples, or families who can offer a spare room and a supportive home environment to a young person aged 16–21. These volunteer roles are needed on an ongoing basis. M3 requires host providers to live in the home, to be able to offer some moral support to our yourng people and be able to mentor them around using the appliencies.
