Befriending

BPRCVS

Working with and supporting the Social Connecting team based within BPRCVS.  The role includes providing support to people who are identified through telephone befriending service, linking them to activities and opportunities within the VCF to address their non-medical needs.   

All support is person-centred and volunteers would be matched with a client to work towards their own personal goal and to enable them to take part in activities independently. 

- To work with the Social Connecting team to help identify the individual needs of the clients. 

- To support the client to achieve their goals.  

- To maintain regular communication with the Social Connecting team. 

- Keeping records for activities completed and progress of clients onto Log sheets 

- Attending meetings when required. 

- Working in partnership with Social Connecting team and client in planning and organising own work schedule, obtaining schedule and organising the necessary information and resources.  

- The volunteer will be required to have awareness / undertake training of the relevant safeguarding policy. 

- The post holder will be required to raise any concerns regarding safeguarding on the individual to the attention of the relevant Social Connecting team and project-coordinator. 

- Participate in appropriate training programmes / reviews to support the role. 

- To support the overall ethos, principles and practices of BPRCVS. 

- To maintain confidentiality.
