Charity Secretary

We're looking for a volunteer to take over responsibility as our charity secretary, which is a key role in respect of the effective governance of the organisation.

About West End (Burnley) CIO (part of CAN Burnley SW)

We're a neighbourhood based charity that delivers a range of services to children, young people & families in a community centre that we took over in an asset transfer in 2020.

What skills do I need?

The volunteer will ideally have experience of the administrative & associated tasks involved in arranging, running & following up on management meetings.  They will also benefit from having a basic knowledge of compliance issues with regards charity law & other legislation affecting the effective governance of a charity, with the existing postholder being available to provide ongoing training & support to the volunteer undertaking this role.

Details

There is a regular cycle of meetings throughout the year & this involves a monthly commitment, covering business meetings, policy review sessions & business plan review meetings.
