Help Make Burnley’s Million Acts of Hope Celebration 29th May a Success

West End (Burnley) CIO (part of CAN Burnley SW)

Help Make Burnley’s Million Acts of Hope Celebration Shine

Burnley is hosting its own A Million Acts of Hope celebration, and we’re looking for volunteers to help make it a joyful, welcoming day for everyone.

The event will be a free, family‑friendly afternoon in Hargher Clough Park and the West End Community Centre, celebrating kindness, creativity and community. Activities include live music, dance and drumming, a diversity choir, youth performances, an arts & crafts marquee, fairground games, face painting and a bouncy castle.

Volunteers can support:

  • Traditional games in the hall
  • Engagement stalls helping local people share ideas and learn about the new “Together We Can” Fund
  • General event support, welcoming visitors and helping the day run smoothly

This event is part of Burnley’s Year of Culture 2027 engagement programme, celebrating diversity and community pride at its heart.

If you enjoy working with people, supporting young creatives, or being part of something positive for Burnley, we’d love to have you involved. Come help create a hopeful, inclusive day that brings our community together.
