Reception Volunteer

BPRCVS

Reception duties in our busy reception at The CVS Centre, Yorkshire St, Burnley.

 

This is an enjoyable role for someone who likes interacting with people and creating a positive first impression in a busy environment.

 

The role includes (but is not limited to)

·         processing visitors

·         dealing with enquiries

·         telephone calls & queries

·         preparation and tidying of function rooms and servicing meetings (layout, equipment, refreshments, etc.)

·         room hire & general administration (mail, e-mail, copying, filing, laminating, use of electronic room hire calendar system, etc.). 

 

Minimum 1 x 4-hour session per week.

You will learn professional skills including administration. You will receive confidentiality, data protection, and safeguarding training.

 

You will benefit from a supportive peer network, alongside opportunities to develop your understanding of the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) sector.

 

Volunteers will be equipped with the skills needed to work confidently in an office‑based role, many of which are transferable to administration, data input, and other positions across the VCFSE sector and wider employment market. The role offers opportunities to engage with people from a range of backgrounds and organisations, whilst developing practical workplace skills.

About BPRCVS

BPRCVS provides as range of support to VCFSE groups and organisations as well as various projects supporting local residents.

What skills do I need?

Experience of working in an office/reception is an advantage but not essential as peer support and on-the-job training will be given.

 

You must be reliable, respect confidentiality, have a pleasant and friendly manner, and good communication and timekeeping skills.

 

A good level of spoken and written English for this role.
